The Forensics team prepared for several weeks to host its home tournament on Thursday, March 25, and the effort resulted in a successful event. The team managed the event without experienced seniors available due to the Washington D.C. Government trip. This left mostly underclassmen to handle the coordination, but since home teams do not compete in their own tournaments, there were still plenty of Forensics members available, and the tournament ran smoothly. Around ten teams competed. Saturday, March 27, the team attended the Clearwater Invitational. Prior to managing the Kingman Foreniscs tournament, coach Mr. Jesse Adcock led his group through three meets in March. On March 1 they competed at Norwich, March 6 at Pratt, and March 9 at Haven.

So far, twelve people participating in Forensics have qualified for State Championship. Freshmen pair Katie Messenger/Adam Schonlau and sophomore-freshman duo Emily Voran/Rachel Schrag qualified in Duet Acting. Emily Voran also qualified in Humorous Solo. Senior Bethany Bailey qualified in Serious Solo along with junior Allison Molitor. Senior Meredith Voran qualified in Informative, along with junior Jessi Berry. Sophomore Shelby Jacobs qualified in Oration. She also qualified in Prose, along with fellow sophomore Allen Schonlau and junior Allison Molitor. Bethany Bailey and freshman Whisper Cardella both qualified in Poetry. Christian Maude qualified in Extemp.

Six have qualified for State Festival this year as well. Senior-junior pair Christian Maude/Allison Molitor qualified in duet acting. Junior Allyson Moon qualified in Informative. Freshman Adam Schonlau, Junior Allyson Moon, and freshman Madison Boyer all qualified in Poetry. Sophomore-freshman pair Emily Voran/Adam Schonlau qualified in IDA.

State Festival attendance is determined by places 4 and 5 in competitions, and State Championship is determined by the 1st-3rd places. Qualifying for Championships automatically qualifies contestants for festival, but State Championships is the goal, so forensics competitors will always choose that over Festival.
