This will be Kingman’s last year playing in the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League as the school has joined a new league. Kingman has been a member of the AVCTL since it was originally created, and although the switch will bring a lot of changes, it is intended to create better opportunities by placing Kingman with similar caliber and sized teams.

Kingman will be joined by Pratt, Nickerson, Haven, and Hesston in the Central Kansas League Division I, while Lyons, Sterling, Halstead, Hillsboro, and Smoky Valley will be in the CKL Division II.

Location plays a factor in many of the schools joining the new Central Kansas League. It is especially favorable for Pratt, who consistently travels to Larned, Hays, Scott City, and Ulysses in the Mid-State League. The new league will save money for many schools since they will not have to travel as far for away games.
