On Tuesday May 4, Mr. Allen took his Spanish II and Spanish III students on the annual trip to Wichita to visit some authentic Hispanic restaurants and shops. The restaurant the students went to this year is called Los Cocos, and when they ordered, they had to speak completely in Spanish. The group also went to a tortilla factory, a supermarket, a bakery, and a candy store. Most of the students were interested in the different candies and the Spanish Coca-Cola, which is more caffeinated than American Coca-Cola.

On the following day, all of Mr. Allen's Spanish students were treated to a break in their traditional studies to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. The classes watched a movie over the history of Cinco de Mayo and got to enjoy chips and salsa provided by Mr. Allen and his wife.
